Improving Control Mechanism at Routers in TCP/IP Network

چکیده
The existing control mechanisms at the network nodes have a good active and very effective at each local router, but they do not still strong enough to control nonlinear and dynamical behaviour of the network. Therefore, the control system requirements must be designed to be flexible to fully grasp the important status information of the variation and intelligent control methods to control network congestion in nonlinear network. To solve this problem, we propose a solution combined fuzzy reasoning with neural network control put on active queue management mechanisms at the network nodes Received on 27 June 2014; accepted on 27 June 2014; published on 05 September 2014

Design and Performance Evaluation of Distributed Active Queue Management Mechanism Cooperating among Multiple Routers
In recent years, AQM (Active Queue Management) mechanisms, which control the number of packets in the router’s buffer by discarding an arriving packet, have been actively studied. In past studies, most of AQM mechanisms have been designed by taking account of a single router; i.e., few AQM mechanisms have been designed by taking account of multiple routers in the network. In a general network w...

متن کاملThe use of a non-integer order PI controller with an active queue management mechanism
The congestion problem is frequently encountered in communication networks. Network routers transmit packets by links having a limited bandwidth and, if the number of incoming packets exceeds a link capacity, the link is congested and router buffers storing packets to be transmitted via this link may overflow. To address this problem in TCP/IP networks, the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF...
متن کاملRouter - Assisted Congestion Control
Enabling communication between routers and end-points has long been sought after as an approach to congestion control in the Internet. However, the narrow-waist of TCP/IP has complicated the deployment of such protocols. We present Kick-Ass a mechanism that enables explicit rate congestion control protocols to be deployed within the TCP/IP stack. The key idea is to utilize packet lengths as a v...
متن کاملApplication of control theory to a window-based flow control mechanism with ECN routers
A window-based flow control mechanism is a sort of feedback-based congestion control mechanisms, and has been widely used in current TCP/IP networks. Recently, use of an ECN (Explicit Congestion Notification) mechanism as congestion indication from the network to source hosts has been actively discussed in the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force). In this paper, we focus on a window-based flo...
متن کاملTraffic Management for Aggregate IP Streams
The IP networking industry is defining ways to differentiate service levels and provide contracted quality of service. Much of the work, such as multi-protocol label switching, is moving toward traffic engineering models for aggregate streams that closely parallel those of ATM networks. A general architecture, similar to that used for ATM connections, is suggested for the traffic management of ...
